Nest Egg

John Kozarich ’71 transferred the title of his home in Rancho Sante Fe, Calif., to Boston College. It’s a gift that provides him with a significant tax deduction now and guarantees long-term support for BC.

Thinking Like a Lawyer, Caring Like an Eagle

Law alum Tom Flaherty, JD’75 gives back to the place that shaped his mind, body, and spirit.

Real Estate Gifts to Boston College

Whether it’s a home, vacation property, farmland, or commercial building, your gift can make a lasting impact on BC students, faculty, and programs you care about.

How does the One Big Beautiful Bill Act impact charitable giving?

This new federal tax law makes many previous tax cuts permanent and introduces new rules for charitable giving that may affect you. Check out our helpful Q&A for information about how your donations to Boston College may impact your taxes.

“Turnkey” Connections for Eagles in Real Estate

The Boston College Real Estate Council, founded in 1983, brings together Eagles involved in the real estate industry. With programs held three times a year in Boston and New York City, the council offers BC alumni, parents, and friends the opportunity to learn from industry leaders, explore current trends, and expand their professional networks.

Soaring Higher: the Campaign for Boston College Update

With Executive Director of Gift Planning Ericka L. Webb

Why are planned gifts an important part of Soaring Higher?

In a campaign, we raise the dollars now for the future of Boston College. That’s essentially what planned gifts are—commitments made today that will benefit BC later on. Whether an actual annuity, a trust, or bequest intention, these gifts ensure that there are funds in BC’s future. Every planned gift, from $50 to $125 million, is very important and can be transformative to the University.

During Soaring Higher, when anybody at any age adds BC to their estate plans, they will get credit for it today—and it will count toward the campaign. Planned gifts are a great way for people to be part of this campaign and get recognized now. Plus, it gives us the opportunity to really thank and celebrate them while they’re alive. They will also become members of the Shaw Society and get invited to special University events.

With heartfelt gratitude—thank you, Shaw members!
